Sometimes you just have to take a break from creating your own music and have a listen to something else, if only to clear the clutter and allow more focus to flow. Or maybe to further complicate things. At any rate, I've been feeling a little lack of creativity lately. Starting a few songs, but not getting anything finished. So I have been practicing my keyboard and guitar chops a bit. Not trying anything completely original, but I've been playing along with this internet radio station I found. The Dividing Line, progressive rock radio. Of course I'm a prog rock fanatic, so I like listening to it. But I've found what's good about this station in regards to playing or jamming along is that with the type of music presented you can have your own parts intertwine and compliment the music rather than just play the song as is. So you don't even need to know how to play the song, just figure out what you can add to the performance. Much more interesting and fun that just playing along to old Judas Priest albums like I used to do! :o) They play a nice diversity of music within the prog genera, so it's a good station to feed your prog if you like that type of music.
