OK, maybe not love, but I think this guitar looks real sweet! I'm sure it plays and sounds sweet too! I've got two Carvins and they both are great guitars One of them is 25 years old! (a V220T)

I don't need a new guitar, though, do I? :op
I saw it when I was ordering new saddles for my guitar, the screws were a bit rusted and they wobbled. It wouldn't stay in tune well. (That Carvin, a DC127, is 12 years old) Hmmm... maybe it is time for a new guitar. I've always wanted a LP style, but I never liked the way the LP's played. They have a shorter scale length than the Carvin's I'm used to. Felt weird to me, kinda loose or something. And Gibson's are overpriced anyways, IMHO. The Carvin pictured is compairable (at least, if not better) in quality to a LP Custom which is more than twice the price. Again, my opinion. :o)

link issue
Must be one of those expiring type links created from a script, can't pull any page up. They might just be having some issues at this time, I will try later.
Fixed it
I think the image was timing out or something on Carvin's site. (it will disappear if it gets sold 'cause it's from their "guitars in stock" section) So I uploaded it to my site and linked it, also attached a pic just in case. It's worth seeing. Unfortunately it might make you check your bank account to see if you can buy it, or be upset that you can't. It's only $1564! I could always sell the PCAL - not!
Carvin
Nice looking wood block with precious applications. Dunno how often I played on high price instruments (in music shops), but I can say my technique and composition skills haven't been any better... still using my cheap stuff, haha...
Subtle differences
I have noticed Subtle differences when comparing $200 - $600 guitars. However when I compared a $700 to a $1600+ guitar, it was day and night with neck comparison and tension. As far as musical difference, not much. Sometimes there is a big difference in pickup comparisons but not enough to justify the cost differences.
Groove On !!!
Cheap guitars
The Carvin V220T was my first good guitar, I bought it myself when I was 15 (in '84). I saved up my allowance and lunch money for the better part of a school year to buy it. Back then the V220T cost $549, (here's an original catalog page for the guitar, mine looks just like the white one pictured: http://www.carvinmuseum.com/decade/images/84-v220.html). Later when I wanted to get another guitar, I went to the various local stores and played everything from the cheap to expensive. I really didn't like the way any of them played. I'd only been playing a year or so when I got the Carvin. My first guitar was a cheap Lotus LP copy that played horribly. So I really learned how to play on the Carvin. This spoiled me for the characteristics of Carvins. Neck through, ebony fretboard, 24 frets, wicked low action, 25"scale, and all that. So I ended up getting the Carvin DC127. It pretty much played the same as the V220T but has a fixed bridge. It also has a tung oiled neck instead of painted, another thing that is now a requirement for a new guitar. I may have to hit Guitar Center and see if my playing preferences have changed any or if I've spoiled myself to the Carvins for good (or bad! lol). The only guitar I've played that has come close is a Paul Reed Smith custom - and it was a $6000 guitar.
